So what is a paradigm and why should we be concerned about shifting it.  A paradigm is the way we see the world around us.  It can be how we view religion, politics, or matters of science.  It can be something that we believe and hold sacred and never or seldom question.  At one time, the paradigm of many people here on earth was that our planet was the center of the Universe.  Sailors once believed that the earth was
flat and there was a real danger of falling off the edge.  Albert Einstein believed

in looking at the world around us from a completely different perspective.  He would often employ a technique of mental imaging where he would construct a problem and utilize his imagination in how the matter could be resolved.  Shifting our paradigm is largely about viewing the world from a different lens.  To often we get caught up in filtering all of our experiences through a set of assumptions that can become cumbersome and prevent us from stretching our perspective.  Often times we are not even aware we are trapped within our own view of things.  To guard against this it is wise to employ a temperament in which you practice a high degree of tolerance for many other views and challenge even our most rigidly held notions. It is indeed not an easy thing to do, but when you process all those things that happen to you and around you in the spirit of openness, your level of enlightenment will grow.  As an illustration of how things are not always as they seem, take a look at the image below and try and shift your perspective.  As you can see, reality sometimes is found within the frame of how we look at the world around us.  And sometimes there are more than one window to view the world around us.
